Sitecore Commerce 8.2.1 demo installation guide Part 3

In this series of posts I’m gonna walk you through installation of Sitecore Commerce 8.2.1 + Reference Storefront.

Part 3 – Installation of Reference Storefront

using UpdateInstallationWizard at  select / update Sitecore.Reference.Storefront.Common.10.1.110.update  and proceed.
No red errors, just yellow warnings are expected. That was easy huh?

Installation of Reference Storefront powered by Commerce Server

Same as in previous case  select / update

Installation of Adventure Works Images package

Using Sitecore > Desktop > Start menu > Development Tools > Installation Wizard upload and install Commerce Server\…\Packages Adventure Works and proceed installation.
We’ve got few new config files in out Sitecore, so lets merge them:
Merge C:\inetpub\wwwroot\store\Website\MergeFiles\Merge.Commerce.Storefront.config  into C:\inetpub\wwwroot\store\Website\Web.config
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\store\Website\MergeFiles\Views\Merge.web.config  into C:\inetpub\wwwroot\store\Website\Views\Web.config

Check & Set Commerce Server Applications

From win start menu (alternativelly from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Commerce Server 11\Business Tools) open
Commerce Server 11 > Commerce Server Catalog And Inventory Schema Manager. You’ll be asked for web service addressed, use following http://CSServices/CFSolutionStorefrontSite_CatalogWebService/CatalogWebService.asmx  (It should be accessible even to your browser remember?)
App should run correctly. Lets jump into another app.
Open win Commerce Server 11 > Commerce Server Catalog Manager and again set web service to http://CSServices/CFSolutionStorefrontSite_CatalogWebService/CatalogWebService.asmx
App should run fine as well, Lets set last one win -> Commerce Server 11 > Commerce Server Customer and Orders Manager set web services accordingly…

Importing shop data

At this point we’ll import shop data into sitecore storefront reference shop. This can be done multiple ways, but lets open shiny blue screen of powershell as Admin and:
  • navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\130\DAC\bin>
  • run .\SqlPackage.exe /Action:Publish /SourceFile:"C:\install\sitecore\Sitecore.Reference.Storefront.for.SCpbCS.8.2.518\SCpbCS\Database\Profiles\Commerce.Storefront.ProfileDatabase.dacpac" /TargetDatabaseName:CFSolutionStorefrontSite_profiles /TargetServerName:"WIN-1BUHRDDGT1K"

(You’ll have to find that .dacpac file in you installation folder.)

After that import open Commerce server Catalog Manager (win menu) and import Catalog from XML:
  • at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\store\Website\Commerce Server\Database\Catalog\Catalog.xml
  • change mode to Replace

Inventory catalog has to be imported as well so switch to Inventory catalog view at the very same catalog manager and import Inventory catalog from:

  • C:\inetpub\wwwroot\store\Website\Commerce Server\Database\Inventory\Inventory.xml
  • change mode to Replace
Good. Now we have to import profiles and we should be done.
Open Commerce Server Manager (from Start) and Import Profiles
  • navigate to Console Root > Commerce Server Manager > Global Resources > Profiles > Profile Catalog
  • Right click on Profile Catalog and click on Import Profile Schema
  • choose C:\inetpub\wwwroot\store\Website\Commerce Server\Database\Profiles.xml
  • edit nested Sql Source
  • on Provider tab select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
  • click next and set server name: WIN-1BUHRDDGT1K
  • select Integrated Security for connection
  • select CFSolutionStorefrontSite_profiles as database
  • ok, click import

Now just for sake of existence this option open Commerce Server 11 > Upgrade wizard and proceed through upgrade (not sure if it does something)

At this point there is just one think to do left and it is installation and configuration of Commerce Engine. Lets continue with that in Part 4
